Red Barn Observatory IAU/MPC H68

Owned by Steve E. Farmer Jr., the Red Barn Observatory IAU/MPC H68 was established in 2006.  It was built with intentions to observe asteroids and comets as well as become a MPC registered observing station.  The observatory is located about 4 miles south of Ty Ty, Georgia and is obscured by very little light pollution.  The observatory is equipped with a 0.3-meter (12") LX200 GPS and SBIG ST-7 CCD imager.  For visual observing, a 0.25-meter (10") Meade Starfinder is used - it was the first telescope used in the observatory.  The observatory also has a separate warm/cool room from where the telescope is controlled and the entire observatory (minus the roll-in roof) can be controlled from inside the house located within 100'.
