Date:  20071010

Session:  Astrometry of Comet C/2007 T1 McNaught

Detections:  Comet C/2007 T1

Submissions:  5 Observations

This comet was very near the evening horizon, but I managed to get 50 - 1 minute exposures of it.  My observations showed the comet to be around magnitude 16.2, but the Minor Planet Center currently has it listed at mag. 13.  The magnitude was fairly consistent in my observations.  I used FindOrb to check my observations, and it showed that I only had a RMS of 0.132 arc-seconds.  In my opinion, pretty good.

Sky conditions were very good.  There was no moisture noticeable in the sky, and I could see the Milky Way cloud down to Cassiopeia.  The current temperature outside is around 75 F and a cold system is preparing to move into the area.  Temperatures are supposed to drop to 48 F by Friday.  Clear skies should come as well.
