Mike Boschat
Astronomer Profile
My
name is Mike Boschat and I reside in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada and have been
studying astronomy for 46 years now ever since reading "Your Book of Astronomy"
in 1960 by the British author Sir Patrick Moore. We have been in correspondence
since that time. I'm a Life member of our Royal Astronomical Society of
Canada - Halifax Center, Association of Variable Star Observer's (AAVSO) - Solar
Section, Association of Lunar and Planet Observer's (ALPO)_ Solar Section,
British Astronomical Association (BAA)- Solar and Aurora Section, and the Soviet
Meteor Observer's.
My main interests are: Solar, Lunar, Venus, Mars,
Jupiter, Saturn,
Aurora, looking for NLC ( Notilucent Clouds ), and Radio Meteor.
I own the following telescopes:
1) 15cm (6"), 1500mm focal length, f/10 Intes-Maksutov
2) 10cm (4"), 1000mm focal length f/10 Runibar Maksutov
3) 8cm, (3"), 800mm focal length, f/10 refractor
4) 10x50 and 20x60 Tento binoculars.
All above made in the Soviet Union. The refractor was a gift by the
amateurs there for my cooperation, observations and long time friendship.
5) 11cm (4.3"), 1000mm focal length, f/9.5 Antares refractor
with a Baader Contrast Booster Filter.
