Comet Hunting Update:
No comet hunting since August 14 due to cloud cover in the search areas.
Thunderstorms have been in the area most of the week along with cloud cover and humidity.
August 28, 2006
This is the first night since August 14, that the areas I search for comets has been clear (although some thin clouds still affected some of the images).
Image 1 (SA-01) was collected at 00:53 UT and image 19 (SA-19) was collected at 02:25.
Total imaging time was 1 hour and 28 minutes.
It took approximately 2 hours to review all sets of images since I was able to collect many more than usual and this number should keep rising until I'm able to easily image 25 search areas per night.
Total Comet Hunting time: 3 hours 28 minutes.
I'll list the Area Covered after follow-up is performed on a potential object (asteroid/comet/noise/??).
**This object turned out to be well aligned noise. Search area was near the constellation Bootes.
Potential Suspects: 1 appeared in SA-12. I was only able to image this area twice, so I didn't have the third image to confirm the object. It will be followed up tomorrow night.
**Follow up images confirmed the object was noise.
August 30, 2006
